The diagnosis process doesn’t take much time. The various options available under conventional CSR eye treatment varies from oral medications to laser treatments. The main central serous retinopathy treatment options available under conventional treatment are :
  1. Oral Medications — In most of the cases oral medicines are prescribed to the patients for the removal of central serous retinopathy. Various oral medicines prove helpful in controlling the CSR condition and in stopping it from spreading further. Normal Vision recovers after some days of the treatment, and it takes about three or four months for the full recovery. Medicines should be taken according to the instructions of the doctors as they may have some side effects if proper guidelines are not followed. And in some reported cases the fluid started appearing again after stopping medicines resulting in more extended medicinal procedures risking some severe health problems.
  2. Topical Treatment — Topical central serous retinopathy treatment is not that much effective and successful in removing the disease, but still, a lot of topical medications are used. Topical CSR eye treatment use lotions, creams, and gels while treating a patient and requires assistance even while taking treatment at home. Doctors prescribe some topical medicines to control the condition, but none of them is as much practical as other treatments.
  3. Laser Treatment — Central Serous Retinopathy Laser treatment is used only in those conditions where significant improvement is visible in the central vision area. Use of laser therapy is highly risky and needs to be handled carefully as they can damage the treated part permanently. Complete expertise is required while doing laser central serous retinopathy treatment, and some laser treatments are found to be very useful for the long term without any difficulties. Laser treatment for central serous retinopathy should only be performed in case of emergencies or half recovered patients where risk is minimal.
  4. Lifestyle Changes — There are a number of factors which are considered to be the main central serous retinopathy causes and by eliminating these causes or taking precautions a person can reduce the effect of central serous retinopathy. Some simple lifestyle changes like proper sleep patterns, abstinence from alcohol and tobacco and daily exercise routine can assist in removing the disease early. Sleep plays a significant role in maintaining a healthy body and mind and disturbance in sleep patterns causes an imbalance in the hormonal structure of the body which causes a lot of deficiencies. Alcohol and tobacco damages visceral organs of the body to the extent of complete dysfunction, that’s why adopting a healthy lifestyle and following central serous retinopathy prevention measures can reduce the effects of central serous retinopathy in a natural way.
Conventional treatment of central serous retinopathy can be beneficial in case of emergencies and can provide relief in some cases, but it can’t be considered reliable and permanent as symptoms of CSR starts appearing again after a few days of the treatment. Permanent central serous retinopathy treatment can only be done with Ayurveda.
